In addition to being more interactive than emails and mailings, the Environmental Law Resource, by saving paper and reducing waste, is also eco-friendly.

The Environmental Law Resource is written and maintained by environmental attorneys throughout the firm. Reed Smith's environmental practice is global not only geographically, but substantively as well. We regularly counsel clients in every substantive area of environmental law, including air, water, climate change, carbon capture and storage, solid waste, hazardous waste, infectious waste, transactions, chemicals management, land use, right-to-know laws, and the handling, transportation, regulation, and cleanup of hazardous substances, wetlands and real estate transactions.

Louis A. Naugle

Lou is located in Pittsburgh and is the Practice Group Leader of the firm's Environmental Group. Lou has been active in the practice of environmental law since 1975. His practice includes both litigation and environmental counseling and due diligence, including brownfields development. He has extensive litigation experience in permitting and compliance/enforcement proceedings and has represented clients in civil enforcement and criminal investigation proceedings in New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

David W. Wagner

David's practice focuses on domestic and international environmental matters, including selected state and federal litigation and compliance counseling for manufacturing clients under air, waste, chemicals, and pesticides laws and regulations. With respect to climate change matters, his recent focus is on the legal aspects of carbon capture and storage (CCS). Among other matters, he was one of the core contributors to the development and drafting of the CCS Model Regulatory Framework, a 130-page publication released by the International Energy Agency that aims at assisting national and regional development of a CCS regulatory framework. He is also a Professor of Law (adjunct) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he teaches the course "Environmental Law, Policy and Politics."
